Liz has lived experience navigating the mental health system. At an early age, she was labeled with multiple mental health diagnoses and dangerously overmedicated. Additionally, she survived living in wilderness therapy, residential programs, and on the street. Through her experiences, she has learned that she can break through barriers and has committed herself to rediscovering who she is.
Liz serves as a youth Wraparound support partner for Youth M.O.V.E. Oregon in Columbia County. She is passionate about working with youth who experience diverse challenges. She is committed to encouraging young adults and modeling that our experiences don't define who we are as people. She believes that each of us can advocate for what we want in life and define ourselves in our own terms.
Today, Liz lives in Portland with her loving husband, their two dogs Ike and Ivy, and their veiled chameleon Dil. She enjoys hiking in the Columbia Gorge with her dogs, watching Netflix in bed, and playing her Native American flute in the great outdoors!
